Tacoma offers several ways to pay for public parking. Available payment options may vary by location, so check the posted signs and payment instructions where you park.
Pay Station
- Pay directly at a parking pay station using coins or a credit card. Tacoma uses Pay by Plate, so have your vehicle’s license plate number ready.
- Your payment is linked electronically to your license plate, so you do not need to display a receipt.
Mobile Apps
Prefer to pay by phone? Use one of Tacoma’s available mobile parking apps:
- ParkMobile
- Passport Parking
- Flowbird during the transition to Tacoma’s new mobile payment options
Before starting a parking session, make note of the zone number posted on the parking sign. You’ll need the zone number and your vehicle’s license plate number to pay through a mobile app.
Text to Pay
No app? No problem. Text “PARK” to 30844 and follow the instructions sent to your phone to pay for parking. Have the zone number posted on the parking sign and your vehicle’s license plate number ready.
A Few Things to Know
- All payment options use Pay by Plate, so make sure you enter your license plate number correctly.
- Parking rates, time limits and rules are the same regardless of how you pay.
- Always check posted signs for the zone number, payment options, parking rules and time limits that apply where you park.
- If one payment option isn’t working, try another available option or a nearby pay station.
