One of #Tacoma’s underrated gems. The Shinto shrine in @ptdefiancezoo’s Japanese Garden reflects our city’s deep connection to Japan.
Did you know, in 1961, the Japanese city of Kokura gifted the City of Tacoma a Shinto shrine and Torii gate. Since then, Kokura, now known as ...Kitakyushu, has been a Tacoma Sister City since 1959. Have you visited the Japanese Garden at Point Defiance? What are some of your favorite memories? Let us know in the comments ⬇️
