In its ongoing efforts to support public spaces that are welcoming, safe, and accessible to all, the City of Tacoma’s Environment and Public Works Department is hosting two community and stakeholder input sessions on October 27 and 29. These events will be held in a hybrid format, with in-person and virtual options to attend.
October 27
11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
In-person at People’s Community Center (1602 Martin Luther King Jr. Way)

October 29
1 – 2:30 p.m.

Input gathered at these events will help inform the development of the City’s ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan. The plan will include an evaluation of accessibility metrics across Tacoma’s public right-of-way—including sidewalks, curb ramps, traffic signals, bus stops, and driveway curb cuts. The plan will also assess and incorporate policies and procedures outlined in the City’s Vision Zero Action Plan, Transportation and Mobility Plan, and Comprehensive Plan, and establish a prioritized schedule to address accessibility barriers.
