UPDATE: As of 12:15 pm on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, the Hylebos Bridge is now open to both vehicular and shipping traffic.
The Hylebos Bridge (located off East 11th Street in the Tacoma Tideflats) is currently closed to vehicular traffic due to a technical malfunction. The City of Tacoma’s Public Works Engineering Division is working with a contracting crew to remedy the issue. The bridge will remain closed to vehicular traffic through the night of Monday, July 27, 2026, and the Public Works team will continue to assess the issue on Tuesday, July 28.
The bridge will remain open to shipping vessels until a repair can be made.
