The City of Tacoma’s Street Operations crew is scheduled to conduct its annual snow and ice training October 12 – 14.
- October 12 will be dedicated to equipment setup, with the crew actively rigging snow and ice equipment.
- During active field exercises on October 13 and 14, the crew will train on operation of equipment, and emergency snow vehicles will be dispatched along snow routes and around traffic.
In a snowstorm event, the crew would plow and de-ice streets on a priority level starting with primary arterial streets, followed by secondary and auxiliary routes. The time required to clear these routes would depend on snowstorm intensity and how much snow or ice accumulates.
