Partners across Tacoma-Pierce County are celebrating Bike Month with events and activities – we hope you’ll join the fun! Events are being added regularly – check back here for the latest details.Â

To have your event considered for the Tacoma-Pierce County 2026 Bike Month event calendar, please add your event details using the form below. Email Jkaiser3@tacoma.gov with any questions. Not all events may be listed and answers may be edited for brevity and clarity before posting. Please fill out one form for each event you are hosting.

E-Bike Rebate ProgramÂ

Pre-registration required? Yes, application required to be eligible for a chance of an instant rebate.Â
Event Description: Kick of Bike Month by applying for an e-bike rebate.  The WE-Bike program offers people living in Washington a rebate to help lower the cost of buying an eligible e-bike. People age 16 and older can apply, with rebates of $300 or $1,200 depending on household income. Applications opened March 30, 2026, and selected applicants will be asked to provide documents to confirm eligibility.

Important Details: This program is not first-come, first-served. Anyone who is eligible and applies before the deadline will have an equal chance at being selected. Random selections start Monday April 13th and are made the second Monday of each month. If you applied during the pilot round in 2025, you will need to reapply.Â

Event Description: The 15th Annual Pierce County Bike Swap is a FREE family-friendly community event put on by Ride Together Pierce, where anyone can sell or buy used bicycles and bicycle parts. The event will have activities for all ages! We encourage you to bring a helmet if you plan on test-riding bikes.Â

City of Tacoma Bike Month Proclamation

Event Description: Join Mayor Ibsen and Tacoma City Council for their annual proclamation celebrating Bike Month! The proclamation recognizes the benefits of bicycling for our community, reiterates the City of Tacoma’s support for increasing bicycling safety and achieving Vision Zero, and recognizes the City’s goal to build a community where all people can safely ride!Â

Pierce County Bike Everywhere ChallengeÂ

Event Description: Ride Together Pierce is hosting the Bike Everywhere Challenge, May 1-31, encouraging folks to log their bicycle trips on the trip calendar at RideTogetherPierce.com. You can participate as an individual or form a bike team with your friends or coworkers. Prizes for logging bike trips on the trip calendar this May include $50 gift cards to a local bike shop, $20 gift codes, and a pizza party for top 3-5 bike teams.Â

The Bike Everywhere Challenge Â

Event Description: Challenge yourself and others to ride as much as possible each year from May 1 to 31, 2026 in this fun and free trip-tracking contest. Join on your own or as a team, invite friends, log miles, and earn prizes. It’s simple and fun!Â
You can ride solo or form a team of coworkers, friends, or neighbors, and log your trips on the user-friendly (we will share the platform info soon). Invite a friend to join your team and help a newbie get started biking. You could be the one who makes them fall in love with two-wheeled transportation.Â

National Bike & Roll to School DayÂ
Location:Â Various Tacoma Public SchoolsÂ
Event Description:Â Schools across the country will celebrate biking, walking, and actively rolling to school on May 6, 2026, and throughout the month. Bike, walk, scoot, or skate to school in May from home or by parking a few blocks away from school. Plan a celebration with your school using posters, promotions, and incentives.Â

Monkey Puzzle – Sequoia Map & RollÂ
Organizer: Tacoma Tree FoundationÂ
Time: 5:30 – 7:30 p.m.
Location: 316 S. G St., Tacoma, WA 98405, Meet at the Entrance of W.W. Seymour Botanical Conservatory.
Event Cost: Free

Event Details: Join us for this unique tour of Tacoma’s neighborhood trees, where we will pedal and map a few of our Monkey Puzzle and Sequoia trees. Learn about the many ways these prehistoric trees have been incorporated into our urban landscape, consider their future in our changing climate and growing city, and ponder their cultural significance, both in our community and abroad. This is a no-drop ride and will happen rain or shine.

Event Cost: $60, no one will be turned away for lack of funds.  Â
Event Description:Â Get ready for an unforgettable adventure at the Destiny Dozen ride! The Destiny Dozen is a fundraiser for Second Cycle that will take you roughly 40 miles around Tacoma, going up 12 of our toughest hills from Fairbanks to Owen Beach, climbing 4,200 feet.Â
Whether you’re racing against the clock or enjoying the journey with fellow cyclists, every pedal stroke contributes to our shared goal of supporting Tacoma’s only non-profit community bike shop.Â

Event Description: On May 17th, everyone is welcome to join Tacoma on the Go at People’s Park from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. for treats, resources, safety gear, and a celebration of biking and rolling in our community. Complimentary basic bike tune-ups and low-cost helmets will be available. We’ll also be hosting a same-day, self-guided scavenger hunt with a chance to be entered into a raffle for prizes. Whether you ride a bike, roll, or simply want to stop by, we’d love to see you there!

Bike to the Broadway Farmers Market and visit the Tacoma on the Go Booth
Time: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Location: 949 Broadway, Tacoma, WA 98402
Description: Celebrate Bike Month by cycling to the Downtown Farmers Market on May 21st (10am-2pm, on Broadway between S. 9th and St. 11th)! Visit the Tacoma On the Go booth to get more information about bike resources as well as details for the events we have planned for the summer. Receive a $5 market token if you bike to the market and visit the TOTG booth!
