Safety Exit

If you are experiencing domestic violence and need help right now, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at (800) 799-SAFE (7233).

We believe every community member deserves to feel safe, connected, and valued. In Tacoma, violence prevention is rooted in collaboration and data-driven decisions that meet the diverse needs of our community. We recognize that safety is more than the absence of crime; it is the equitable access to opportunity, resources, and culturally-responsive services.

Community Safety is a City Council goal outlined in Tacoma 2035.

Violence Prevention is the overarching priority of three areas of focus. Click the links below to learn more about the city’s approach to community violence response, youth and young adult violence prevention through the Building Resilience Against Youth Violence and Exploitation (BRAYVE) initiative, domestic violence, and intimate partner violence prevention.
