On October 10, the City of Tacoma and the Green Tacoma Partnership will host Green Tacoma Day, a citywide volunteer effort focused on restoring and supporting Tacoma’s green spaces.
Community members of all ages and abilities are encouraged to take part in this annual day of service, which offers hands-on opportunities to improve local parks, neighborhoods, and natural areas. Volunteers will take part in activities such as planting native trees and shrubs, removing weeds, and picking up litter across seven sites where multiple events will be held.
“Thank you to all the volunteers, organizations, and City staff that make this day possible every year,” said Tacoma Mayor Anders Ibsen. “Our green spaces are the biggest legacy we leave to the next generation, and we commend the amazing Tacomans who make that possible.”
No prior experience is needed. All necessary tools, gloves, and guidance will be provided.
