Registration Now Open for OMWBE Active Certification Class on November 17

Monday November 03, 2025
Downtown Tacoma

The City of Tacoma’s Equity in Contracting Program is partnering with the Washington State Office of Minority & Women’s Business Enterprises (OMWBE) to host an OMWBE Active Certification Class on November 17, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at the Tacoma Municipal Building (747 Market St., Room 248). The class is open to any business doing business in Tacoma that wishes to attend.

The class aims to help businesses owned by minorities, women, and socially and economically disadvantaged individuals get OMWBE-certified. The goal is for attendees to complete and submit their OMWBE certification applications by the end of class. Attendees will work directly with Resie Rogers, a certification analyst with OMWBE.

Registration is required and in-person attendance is strongly encouraged, although the class will be conducted in a hybrid format with virtual and in-person options to attend. Class details, including how to register and what items or materials registered attendees should plan to have on-hand during class, are available at makeittacoma.com/events.

Community members with questions, or who wish to request information in an alternate format, can contact Linda Cerna in the City’s Community & Economic Development Department at lcerna@tacoma.gov or (253) 453-9488.
