At approximately 2:38 p.m., Tacoma Police officers responded to the 700 block of South Stevens Street for a report of a domestic assault.
Officers arrived on scene at approximately 3:09 p.m. At approximately 3:56 p.m., officers reported shots fired at the scene. Tacoma officers rendered aid to the adult male suspect until Tacoma Fire Department personnel responded a short time later and pronounced the suspect deceased at the scene.
The Pierce County Force Investigation Team (PCFIT) and the Washington State Office of Independent Investigations (OII) have responded to the scene. OII will lead the investigation into the officer-involved shooting.
The involved officer was not injured and will be placed on administrative leave in accordance with department policy.
