The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) will be performing maintenance work along northbound Interstate 705 and under the State Route 509 interchange in Tacoma, which will require ramp closures March 24 – 28, 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
During that time, the City of Tacoma’s Public Works crews will manage detour routes within Tacoma city limits, while carrying out vegetation management, graffiti removal, pavement repairs, and sign maintenance in the area.
To minimize travel disruptions, WSDOT and the City of Tacoma recommend that drivers utilize alternate routes, travel before or after work hours, carpool, or consider postponing non-essential trips.
The City of Tacoma’s Homeless Engagement Alternatives Liaison (HEAL) team will continue to provide outreach services in the area throughout the duration of this work.
