Tacoma Police detectives have arrested a suspect in connection with a homicide that occurred in the 1000 block of South Tacoma Way.
On July 6, 2026, at approximately 12:36 a.m., Tacoma Police officers responded to the 1000 block of South Tacoma Way for a report of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers immediately began lifesaving measures until the Tacoma Fire Department arrived. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
Over the course of the investigation, detectives developed probable cause to arrest an adult male suspect. On July 8, 2026, Tacoma Police detectives, with the assistance of the Tacoma SWAT and Special Investigations, located and arrested the suspect. He was booked into the Pierce County Jail for Murder in the 1st degree.
