To help local businesses successfully navigate government and commercial contracting, the City of Tacoma’s Equity in Contracting (EIC) team is partnering with the Washington APEX Accelerator to host a free, virtual workshop – Capability Statements 101. The workshop will take place on March 11, 2026, from 9 – 10:30 a.m.
The virtual workshop is designed to teach business owners how to effectively market their organizations, highlight their experience and past performance, and clearly communicate the unique qualities that set them apart from their competitors. Participants will receive a comprehensive overview of the City’s EIC program, along with practical guidance on how to properly showcase proof of qualifications and relevant certifications to potential buyers.
Additionally, the virtual workshop will provide actionable tips on how to establish and nurture relationships with new clients and government agencies. Participants will hear direct testimonials from major clients operating within commercial and government spaces.
The virtual workshop will also cover essential information regarding North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes and how to use them effectively in business marketing.
