Arrest Made in Connection with 2024 Homicide

Tacoma Police detectives have arrested a suspect in connection with the 2024 homicide that occurred in the 2000 block of East 28th Street. During the course of the investigation, detectives developed probable cause to arrest the suspect.

On July 13, 2026, the adult male suspect turned himself in at the request of detectives and was booked into the Pierce County Jail for Murder in the Second Degree.

Just before 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 15, 2024, Tacoma Police responded to the 2000 block of East 28th Street for a report of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers located an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. Tacoma Police officers and Tacoma Fire Department personnel immediately began lifesaving measures; however, the victim died from his injuries.

The suspect in this case remained at the scene and cooperated with detectives during the investigation.

Troopers from the Washington State Patrol and officers from the Puyallup Tribal Police Department assisted with the initial investigation.

Crime Scene Technicians and Detectives responded to the scene, and the incident was investigated as a homicide.
