The City of Tacoma has announced the formal appointment of Allyson Griffith as Deputy City Manager, effective immediately. She has been serving as Interim Deputy City Manager since January 2025.
“Allyson’s leadership and commitment to our community have been evident throughout her tenure, particularly during her time as Interim Deputy City Manager,” said City Manager Elizabeth Pauli. “Her extensive experience and dedication to fostering strong community relationships will be invaluable as we continue to work towards a thriving Tacoma for all residents.”
Deputy City Manager Griffith joined the City in 2007 as a Management Fellow and has held various positions, including Director of the Neighborhood & Community Services Department. In that role, she was instrumental in building relationships among community members and across various City departments to support thriving neighborhoods. As Interim Deputy City Manager, she has overseen critical departments and initiatives, including the Neighborhood & Community Services and Community & Economic Development departments, the City’s Alternative Response efforts, Management Fellows, and Policy Analysts.

Deputy City Manager Griffith will continue to be responsible for the key areas she oversaw as Interim Deputy City Manager, and will take on additional projects and departments as needed to advance the City’s strategic priorities.
