Renew a business license and pay tax assessments and other licensing fees anytime through our automated phone system. A city account number is required.

• Available Languages: English, Spanish, Russian, Vietnamese, and Korean.

Virtual Appointments

The Tax & License department can meet with you via Microsoft Teams to address any questions or assist with applying for a business license. Everything can be completed virtually using a smartphone or computer. Appointments are available Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Information on how to download Teams and access your meeting will be sent by email and text after booking your virtual appointment.

Pay Box

You can renew a business license, pay tax assessments, and other licensing fees at a Pay Box. Pay Boxes are conveniently located in grocery stores throughout Pierce County, at Tacoma Public Utilities, or in the City Municipal Building.
