Trafton Slope Volunteer Work Party

June 21 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
  • This event has passed.

The City of Tacoma and Pierce Conservation District are excited to announce our new partnership in managing the Tacoma Habitat Stewardship Program! Together, we’re working to engage Tacomans in the stewardship and enjoyment of some of our city’s unique urban natural areas and open spaces.

Trafton Slope is a natural area tucked away in South Tacoma, consisting of both the more familiar Pacific Northwest forest ecosystem and also some Garry-oak prairie. We will be clearing weeds like blackberry, mulching the restoration pathways, and creating mulch rings for Garry oak seedlings.

All are welcome, no experience necessary! Instruction, gloves, tools, and snacks provided.

Please sign up here.

Youth Policy: All minors will need to have a parent/legal guardian sign and bring a waiver to participate. Youth 15 and under need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
