Tacoma

The City of Tacoma’s Equity in Contracting Program is hosting an interactive workshop called “Capital Ready: Preparing Businesses for Growth in Public Contracting” on October 27, from 4 – 6 p.m., at Edison Square (5415 S. Tacoma Way). The event, which will include a panel discussion and an opportunity to network, is designed to help Tacoma-area businesses better understand their financing options and build relationships with local capital providers.

The panel discussion will be moderated by Scott Lundt, co-owner of LED Trail, a clean energy solutions firm. Panelists will include Aron Steusser, a senior vice president and business banking market executive with Bank of America; Brent Robinson, a business relationships manager for south Pierce and Thurston counties with BECU; and Jimmy Ng, a senior vice-president overseeing business banking sales with KeyBank.

The panel discussion will focus on financing readiness, working capital, lender expectations, common barriers to obtaining capital, and funding solutions that support growth. It will also focus on equipment purchases, contract performance, and larger public-sector opportunities.

Before and after the panel discussion, attendees will have an opportunity to connect directly with lenders and business resource partners.
