Council District 5 Participatory Budgeting Idea Collection Kick-Off

July 29 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Idea Collection for District 5’s Participatory Budgeting process is starting!

Come to the Southside of Tacoma for the celebration of this exciting milestone, where members of the public can learn more about District 5’s participatory budgeting project and pick up materials to help members of the District 5 community submit their ideas.

Participatory Budgeting is a democratic process where community members decide how a portion of the public budget is spent. Tacomans who live, work, learn, or play in Council District 5 will select a $1.6 million capital project that addresses decarbonization and/or climate resiliency.

Join Mayor Anders Ibsen, Deputy Mayor and District 5 Council Member Joe Bushnell, along with staff from the City of Tacoma, Parks Tacoma, and the Washington State Department of Commerce in encouraging District 5 community members to submit their project proposals.
