The Tacoma Arts Commission recently awarded $147,000 in Community Arts Projects funding to 30 Tacoma organizations, groups, and businesses in support of 2026 public outreach projects.
“This funding support arts experiences that are accessible, community-centered, and rooted in Tacoma’s diverse cultures,” said Tacoma Arts Commission Chair Jasmine Brown. “They bring cultural expression, dance, music, theater, visual, and cross-disciplinary arts directly into neighborhoods and create meaningful opportunities for connection, expression, and belonging.”
Funded projects include the production of 10 cultural and arts festivals and celebrations, two youth education programs, one artist market series with performing arts programming, four music concert series, one music workshop series, two dance performance series, one dance workshop series, one theater workshop series, one cross-disciplinary cultural workshop series, three murals, two visual art exhibits, one community engagement project, and one cross-disciplinary program focused on the disability community.

- Barefoot Collective – Dancing in the Park
- Black Night Market – Black Night Market Events: Poetry After Dark, Holiday Markets, and Black Art Soiree
- Capoeira Vida – Free Capoeira Vida Youth, Family, and Adult Programs
- Caribbean Queens – Caribbean Queens Festival
- Chinese Reconciliation Project Foundation – Tacoma Moon Festival
- Foss Waterway Seaport – Tacoma Salmon in the Classroom Art Project
- Greentrike – Sparks at Children’s Museum of Tacoma
- Hilltop Artists – Monkeyshines Citywide Treasure Hunt
- Lincoln District Business Association – Lincoln District Lunar New Year Festival
- Museum of Glass – Glass Fest Northwest
- Northwest Sinfonietta – ‘Voices Rise’ Concert with La Cantina and Northwest Sinfonietta
- One Table Show – Building the Table: Developing Semi-Improvisational Theater

The Community Arts Projects funding program financially supports organizations and groups producing arts-focused community projects across all artistic disciplines within Tacoma.
