“Good stewardship of City resources and ensuring that the services our taxpayers fund are delivered efficiently, safely, and without disruption remains incredibly important to us. Every building, park, and vehicle owned by this City exists to serve a specific purpose for our residents.
This resolution directing the City Manager to clarify the policies governing the use of City-owned property is about ensuring that our public assets remain dedicated to the public functions for which they were established. We must ensure that the day-to-day operations of the City are not disrupted by external activities that fall outside our local mandate.
At the end of the day, this resolution is about preserving operational integrity. It is vital that we distinguish between the City’s local obligations and the operations of other jurisdictions as we continue our ongoing work to serve Tacoma’s community members.”
