To extend the life of Browns Point Boulevard, until longer-term improvements can be made, the City of Tacoma’s Street Operations Division will begin essential maintenance on March 31, 2025, leading up to a planned chip seal project this summer. Barring any weather-related delays, crews will be addressing existing pavement damage, including crack sealing and pothole repairs, to create a smoother driving surface.
Residents in the Browns Point area can anticipate temporary traffic impacts, including “No Parking” restrictions and road closures. Advanced notice will be provided through message boards and posted signage. Detour routes will be clearly marked, and access for emergency vehicles and local residents will be maintained throughout the project. Detailed scheduling for the summer chip seal work will be shared with the community as soon as it is finalized.
