Station Tour

The Tacoma Fire Department allows educational and community groups to visit their neighborhood fire stations. All requests for visits must be processed and approved by Fire Headquarters.

Station Tour Request Form

The following guidelines for group station tours ensure the safety of your visiting group and help with TFD firefighter scheduling.

• Your group must be located in the City of Tacoma, Fife, or Fircrest.
• Fire station tours must be scheduled at least two weeks in advance.
• Fire station tours last 20 – 30 minutes.
• The maximum number of participants is 30 and requires one chaperone for every five children.
• Only one visit per month, per fire station can be scheduled. All dates are subject to availability. If you have more than one group, you will need to submit a separate request for each group, and those visits will need to be scheduled on different days. Please recognize that we cannot pull crews out of service for extended periods of time and still maintain appropriate staffing to handle potential emergency responses.
• We will do our best to honor our scheduled appointments. However, the station visit may be canceled at the last minute with no notification due to emergency response or firefighter training requirements. We apologize in advance if this happens to you and will be happy to reschedule at a later date.

Community event organizers can request a fire engine visit. All requests for visits must be processed and approved by Fire Headquarters.

Ride Along

The Tacoma Fire Department allows ride-alongs for Tacoma, Fife, and Fircrest community members. All requests for visits must be processed and approved by Fire Headquarters.

Ride Along Application

• Applications must be submitted at least two weeks prior to your ride-along date.
• If you are currently on our Hiring List, you are not eligible for a ride along with the Tacoma Fire Department.
• You must be a City of Tacoma, Fife, or Fircrest resident.
