Project Overview

This project aims to improve safety around Manitou Park Elementary’s school by adding a raised crosswalk, Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFB), lighting, and new ADA curb ramps at the school crossing. The project also adds protected bike lanes along South 66th Street from South Cheyenne Street to South Tyler Street, with bus island curb extensions. Together, the raised crosswalk and addition of the protected bike lanes work as speed management strategies, while providing safer facilities for people of all ages and abilities to walk and roll.
