What is a paperless notice and how does it work?

A paperless notice is an email informing a business when a liability (license or tax) is due. The email includes all the information needed for a company to renew a license or file taxes. A paperless notice is sent instead of a paper notice.

Paperless notices offer businesses the option of having tax and license notices sent to different individuals/departments. There is no delay in receiving a notice; notices are delivered directly to the person responsible.

Please allow 2-3 days for your account to be updated. Requests that are submitted close to a billing date (see below) may not be updated in time and will receive a paper notice until the next billing date.

  • Tax notices – 25th of the month.
  • General Business License – December 1st.
  • Regulatory License – 1st day of the month that the license expires.

No, you may print your business license at FileLocal-wa.gov. If you are not registered with FileLocal, a business license will be mailed to the mailing address on file. 

No, currently license renewals and taxes are the only paperless notices we offer.

Paperless notices are sent to the email address on file. If an email is returned to us as undeliverable, a paper version of the notice will be sent to the mailing address on file and the business will be unenrolled from the paperless option.
