At approximately 2:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 9, 2025, our officers responded to the 4800 block of North 18th Street on a report of shots fired and a man lying in the street. Upon arrival, our officers found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds. Responding officers and Tacoma Fire Department personnel attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Crime Scene Technicians and detectives responded to the scene. The incident was investigated as a homicide.
On Friday, January 10, 2025, detectives from the Tacoma Police Department following up on evidence obtained from the crime scene were able to locate and identify a suspect in the homicide. The seventeen-year-old male suspect was taken into custody and booked into Remann Hall for the offense of Murder in the Second Degree.
On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, Tacoma Police Detectives made a second arrest in relation to the homicide investigation. The eighteen-year-old male suspect was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Pierce County Jail for the offense of Murder in the Second Degree.
