DESCRIPTION:As part of the next steps in the recruitment process\, the public is invited to attend the City Manager Recruitment Community Event on Thursday\, February 26\, 2026\, at 4 p.m. The event will take place at the Tacoma Dome (2727 East D Street). \nThe community event is designed to give residents an opportunity to hear directly from the candidates and share feedback. During the program\, finalists will deliver brief presentations on their qualifications and vision for the City Manager role\, followed by questions from City Council members. A community meet-and-greet will follow\, allowing attendees to engage with the candidates and provide written feedback which will be shared with City Council to support their decision-making.  \nThe City anticipates sharing next steps in the recruitment process following the completion of these interviews and the community engagement event on this page as they become available.   \nFree parking is available at the Tacoma Dome in Lot A\, with ADA parking available in Lot K. DESCRIPTION:Tacoma City Council and the City’s Events and Recognitions Committee (CERC) will recognize Tacoma’s top volunteers and service providers during the 39th Annual City of Destiny Awards. The ceremony is planned for Thursday\, June 26\, 2025\, at 7 p.m.\, at the Tacoma Dome Exhibition Hall\, 2727 East D Street. \nGuests are invited to come early for the Community Showcase\, featuring the nominees’ connected organizations as well as a reception with complimentary refreshments beginning at 5 p.m. Additional information will be available leading up to the event. Organizations interested in participating in this community recognition event can learn more about sponsorship opportunities. \n“The City of Destiny Awards are a powerful reminder that everyday acts of service can transform an entire city\,” said Tim Fairley\, member of the City’s Events and Recognitions Committee. “This year’s recipients show us what’s possible when passion\, perseverance\, and community come together.
