SUMMARY:World Cup 2026 Kick Off Parade – Road Closures and Access Information
DESCRIPTION:The World Cup 2026 Kick Off Parade hosted by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians will take place on Friday\, June 12\, 2026\, from 7:30 p.m. to approximately 8:45 p.m. along portions of Portland Avenue and surrounding streets.  \nTo support parade operations\, public safety\, and event setup\, the Puyallup Tribe of Indians and the City of Tacoma will implement temporary road closures and traffic restrictions throughout the area.  \nRoad Closure Times\nRoad closures are expected to begin at approximately 2 p.m. and remain in place until approximately 11 p.m. on June 12\, 2026.  \nClosure Locations\nThe following streets are expected to be closed during the event:  \n\nPortland Avenue between East 40th Street and East 29th Street  \n\n\nEast 38th Street between East L Street and Portland Avenue  \n\n\nEast 30th Street between Portland Avenue and East 29th Street  \n\nRecommended Detour Routes:\nNorthbound Traffic\nEast of Portland Avenue  \n\nEast 64th Street → Waller Road → Pioneer Way  \n\nWest of Portland Avenue  \n\nMcKinley Avenue → Wiley Avenue  \n\nSouthbound Traffic\nEast of Portland Avenue  \n\nPioneer Way → Waller Road → East 64th Street  \n\nWest of Portland Avenue  \n\nPuyallup Avenue → Pacific Avenue  \n\nEast/West Travel Across Portland Avenue\nTraveling westbound (east side to west side)  \n\nRoosevelt Avenue → East 44th Street → Portland Avenue  \n\nTraveling eastbound (west side to east side)  \n\nEast 44th Street → Roosevelt Avenue  \n\nParking and Transit\nParking and Fan Zone Express bus service will be available from the Tacoma Dome and Pierce Transit stations.  \nFor Tacoma Dome parking information\, visit tacomadome.org/fanzone26  \nFor transit and shuttle information\, visit piercetransit.org/sea26/  \nFrequently Asked Questions\nWhen will access restrictions be in place?  \nVehicle access impacts are expected between approximately 2 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Friday\, June 12\, 2026. Times are subject to final confirmation.  \n  \nWhat should residents and businesses in the parade route area expect during the event?  \nDuring the restricted access period:  \n\nStreets will be closed to general vehicle traffic\n\n\nResidents may not be able to enter or exit their driveway or street utilizing a motor vehicle\nResidents and businesses should plan for long delays when entering or leaving the area\nIn certain locations\, access may not be available for long periods of time due to safety measures and parade operations\nAccess may only be allowed at designated crossing points and when it is safe to do so\, via requested police escort\n\n  \nWill emergency services still have access?  \nYes.
